I help companies plan, build, and maintain the software their business runs on — from APIs and backend systems to automation and infrastructure. When something is already broken, I find out why. When something is being built, I make sure it won't need rebuilding next year.

Most of my work falls into one of these areas — although in practice, projects rarely stay inside a single box.
Backend services, internal tools, and integrations between systems that were never designed to talk to each other. Python and Go on the server, PostgreSQL underneath, clean REST APIs on top — built to be maintained, not just delivered.
A second opinion before you commit a budget: architecture reviews, vendor proposal assessments, "is this estimate realistic", and due diligence before an acquisition or an in-house handover. You get a written report, not a slide deck.
Lean, observable deployments and infrastructure that doesn't generate surprise invoices. Migration from expensive or fragile setups to simpler ones, disaster-recovery planning, and monitoring that alerts before your customers notice.
Scrapers, report generation, backups, migrating a site to a fast modern hosting, recovering data from a neglected server, or scripting away work people still do by hand. Small, well-defined jobs are welcome — they're often the ones with the fastest payback.
Designed and built the document-exchange layer for a mid-size freight forwarder: declaration forms flowing between their ERP, customs authorities, and client portal. Four years on, the system processes roughly 30,000 documents a month with a maintenance budget of hours, not weeks.
Replaced nightly CSV imports between warehouses and four online sales channels with a near-real-time event pipeline. Stock discrepancies dropped by an order of magnitude, and the support team stopped apologizing for selling items that were already gone.
Reviewed an inherited reporting system that was slow and feared by everyone who touched it. Rebuilt the calculation core, kept the parts worth keeping, and documented the rest. Runtime dropped from hours to minutes; the team now extends it without asking me first — which was the point.
A 15-year-old internal application with one retired developer's knowledge locked inside. Reverse-engineered, stabilized, given a test suite, and put on a path the current team can actually follow. Data recovered, downtime gone, no rewrite necessary.
Alongside the larger projects: a monitoring setup for a web agency, a billing integration for a SaaS startup, backup audits, occasional "can you look at this before we sign anything" reviews. Long-term maintenance retainers for systems I originally built.
From the first conversation I'll tell you whether something is worth building at all, roughly what it should cost, and what I'm not the right person for. That saves us both more money than any code ever will.
Fewer dependencies, not more. Boring technology that five other people on your team could also hire for. Every abstraction has to earn its place.
Tests, logs, and documentation from day one. The measure of my work is whether your team can take it over without me in the room.
Work is agreed in stages with a fixed scope. Smaller tasks from roughly €60 per hour; larger projects are estimated individually, after I've understood enough to be accountable for the number. No padding, no surprises.
Email is the reliable way to reach me. A few sentences about the problem is enough for a first exchange — no formal brief required, and there's no obligation attached to asking.
[email protected]I usually reply within two working days.
